Meal-Prep Basics for Busy Weeks

Meal prep fails when it feels like cooking twice. The trick is components, not meals: a grain, a protein, two vegetables and a sauce. Mix and match all week and nothing feels like leftovers.

Start with the grain

A big pot of basmati, brown rice or quinoa holds four days refrigerated and reheats beautifully with a splash of water. Our Golden Basmati Rice stays fluffy and separate — exactly what you want on day three.

Add a grab-and-go protein

Roast a tray of chicken, simmer lentils, or keep a pack of our Smoked Chicken Skewers in the freezer. Protein is the difference between a snack plate and a dinner.

Chop veg that holds up

Carrots, peppers, cucumbers, cabbage and roasted broccoli keep their crunch for days. Delicate leaves go in last, ideally the night before, not Sunday.

Finish with one sauce — peanut, tahini or a sharp vinaigrette — and the whole week eats well. Stock the building blocks in the Pantry Staples collection.
